Sentiero Valtellina (Valtellina Path) is a walk and cycle route that guarantees unforgettable emotions and views.

It stretches along the river Adda, from Colico to Bormio, for a total distance of 114 km. The railway line, which runs along a large part of the route, provides several convenient access points. So you can start the route from different places. The legs of the trail include stops in Morbegno, Sondrio, Tirano and Grosio, as well as Colico and Bormio.

Along the route there are many well-equipped rest areas, as well as dining options at nearby holiday farms. It will take you two days to complete the 114 km, so you can stop and rest at the various hotels, B&Bs or huts you'll find along the way. In the final section of the Upper Valtellina, from Sondalo to Bormio, the trail becomes considerably steeper, with an elevation gain of 500 metres. The gradient exceeds 10% in the section after the new footbridge over the Adda, below Tiolo and along the ascent of the Val Pola landslide.

In the proximity of the landslide, you have to cycle on the regular road, taking the old state highway 38 from Sondalo to Aquilone.
